Rammstein 25th Anniversary Album, worth the wait

Rammstein was my introduction into the Neue Deutsche Härte genre; I have loved their music since I was a teenager. It changed my view on music and the world ultimately. I became obsessed with the Neue Deutsche Härte genre and still am to this day.

The latest self-titled album by Rammstein is possibly their best album yet. In my opinion, this is a true masterpiece, and it is so deep and dark. Rammstein has matured over the years, and you can see it with this album. There is an underlying emotional element in several of the songs. The songs cover a wide range of things that are wrong in the world today. Rammstein are unapologetic about shining a light on these issues.

Hallomann, has an element of human trafficking; a man luring a girl away with promises of mussels and French fries and showing her the ocean for the first time if she dances and sings for him.

Puppy, a song about a boy; whose sister works in the red-light district. She was performing sexual acts that eventually lead to her murder and the rage that consumes him. The song starts off slow and enticing and builds up to the madness in true Rammstein style.

Their latest album consists of 11 songs, all spectacular. This album is Rammstein to the core, Till Lindemann showcases his Germanic crooning vocal range throughout this album, commanding and twisted all at the same time.

Ausländer is a song about a foreigner using his worldly travels and language skills as a way to convince the woman to spend a few hours with him, a very catchy song with pop-electric rock sound, depicted more colonially in the above video.

This album is sinister and dark but embraces our current world’s truth, what many people choose to ignore or justify. How global domination is more important than the core values you once embraced as a nation. The sexification of women and girls, the violence, and death that some many women experience. Human trafficking how a global violation of human rights is ravaging the world, and so few people really address the situation’s seriousness.

My favourite song from this album is Weit Weg; it is cold and kinky at the same time. Dripping with desire and lust, the song builds up to a torturous need for the clean guitar sounds and thunderous drums to take you to that fantastic climax.

This album was well worth the ten year wait, delivering authentic Rammstein styled songs that we all have been waiting for.
