Different sex toy materials and how to clean them

Sex toys are something just about everyone has these days, regardless of whether you are kinky or just plain vanilla. Sexy toys are expensive at times, and there is such a variety of choices that at times you get caught up in what they all can do to give you pleasure. You don’t always pay attention to what type of material it is made of, bearing in mind that the sex toys will be used intimately.

When it comes to plastic, you get two kinds porous and non-porous. Porous sex toys are often soft and generally on the cheaper side. The problem with porous sex toys is that they are porous, you can not clean them properly, and you will always be at risk of getting infections from bacteria and dirt that stay behind in the material. The only way you can safely use them is if you use them with condoms, but they will never be truly clean.

Non-porous sex toys are often more expensive, but this is the price you need to pay to make sure they can be cleaned correctly without risking infections or STI’s if it is a shared toy; I am entirely against sharing sex toys. Still, some people do, unfortunately, do this, so it is of utmost importance to make sure you can clean these toys correctly. Non-porous materials include ABS, glass, metal, and wood. Silicone is a non-porous plastic and is softer than ABS, glass, metal, and wood.

Even though cleaning your sex toys might seem like a pain in the arse, it is necessary to avoid infections like UTIs. Apart from cleaning your sex toys, you will also need a clean space to store them and if you received a pouch or sleeve with the toy, store the sex toy in there. You can store them in a clean container; try not to share the toy container with other toys. It will be pointless to clean your sex toy and then keep it in a place that is often exposed to different temperatures and, of course, dust or dirt.

When cleaning your toys, you can use warm water and mild antibacterial soap; make sure to wash the toy at least for 30 seconds before rinsing and drying it; when drying your sex toy, you should use a clean towel. ALWAYS make sure that the toy is waterproof before submerging it in water. Many sex toy soaps and cleaning liquids are available online and in stores; it is entirely up to you what you prefer to use. Make sure that the product can be used on your sex toys type of material, and of course, make sure it is a water-based cleaner.

Sex toys should be cleaned after every use, do not use bleach or any toxic cleaning liquids. You should always be aware of what you put in your body, and this is extremely important with sex toys and how you clean them.
