Types of submissives
Types of submissives vary; there is no one size fits all. We are all different and unique, so you might identify as a submissive, but your kinks help determine what type of submissive you are.
If you are submissive, it is foremost to keep in mind that your submission is a gift, and only you can give it to a Dom. Nobody can take it from you, and you can withdraw submission at any time.
There are several types of submissives, below is a breakdown of the more typical submissive types.
The Brat – Many submissives identify as brats, and these submissives enjoy back chatting their dominants, acting out and around mischievous. They enjoy pushing back so that they can be put back in their place, typically through a form of punishment. Brats are attention-seeking and will do anything to get the attention they desire.
The Slave – The slave is a submissive that enjoys relinquishing all control over to their Master. They become the property of their owner in a total power exchange (TPE). Often, both partners agree upon a contract; the Master will decide on the slave’s meals, routines, and attire along with all rules and duties the slave will need to conform to during the dynamic, usually a 24/7 arrangement.
The New Submissive – This submissive puts their Dom/me’s wants and needs above their own. This submissive is often seen as a people pleaser and will do anything to please their Dominant. Often inexperienced and willing to push boundaries and limits just to satisfy their Dominant, after understanding and learning about BDSM, these submissives will start to move to their actual submissives roles. Unfortunately, new submissives are often taken advantage of and land up in abusive situations as they don’t know better.
The Little – Little submissives will be part of a DD/Lg dynamic with a Daddy Dom or Mommy Domme; they enjoy being in little space and activities related to younger mindsets. Littles often enjoy cuddling with their stuffed toys while watching cartoons or animated series, and they enjoy coloring in books. Littles may age regress; however, this does not apply to all littles. Little enjoy the nurturing care they receive from their Daddy or Mommy.
Service Sub – A service submissive often lives with their Dom/me. Their submission entails servitude which could include household chores like cooking and cleaning. There is usually a humiliation kink tied into service submission, and the submissive enjoys being ordered to do something and have specific duties criticized.

BDSM is about enjoying a role with your partner if, at any point, you no longer enjoy it. Take a break and renegotiate your roles and wants. Both partners should enthusiastically consent to all the roles and activities in their dynamics.
