Should you do an enema before anal?

An enema already sounds like a daunting experience to those not used to it. Shooting water up your ass doesn’t sound like a pleasant experience, but many people that enjoy anal play swear it makes a huge difference, but it is entirely up to you if you want to use an enema.

What is an enema?

An enema is when you purposefully introduce water into your rectum to cause bowel movements; it also cleans the rectum out if anal play is on the cards. This type of enema is different from the enemas for constipation as you just want to clean yourself out.

If you have decided an enema is something you want to do, the first thing you will need is a reusable enema bulb, either online or at a drugstore. Avoid buying laxative enemas for anal play, as this could have the complete opposite effect you want.

So now that you have your enema bulb, you want to clean it before you use it. Wash the bulb with soap and water, making sure it is clean and ready for use. Some bulb manufacturers will state that the enema bulb is dishwasher safe; however, I prefer not to use the dishwasher method.

Choose a time when you are alone and have some privacy to use the enema, and make sure to hydrate beforehand. You will be surprised how easily you can get dehydrated during this exercise; have at least eight glasses of water the day before.

Once you are ready to use the enema, fill it with lukewarm water. Some people prefer to add a few drops of baby oil as they believe it helps clean the “system” out. Next, you want to preferably do this in the bathroom as once the urge kicks in, you might only have a few seconds to get to the toilet.

Now many people use different positions when giving themselves enemas, and you can assume a position similar to doggy style – chest down ass up. This, however, can feel very awkward when you are trying to stick the tip of the bulb in your starfish. The most straightforward position would be to do a low squat; you can even lean against the wall in this position to steady yourself.

Now that you are in the position, you want to insert the tip of the bulb into your rectum and gently press the bulb, allowing water to escape into your rectum; you will possibly give it two to three squeezes before the magic happens. You might instantly feel the urge to shit, so move to the toilet quickly and let the water run out. You will want to repeat the process until the water runs out clean and clear.

Giving yourself an enema before anal play is not necessary, but many people feel more confident knowing they are clean. It is always important to remember when you play in the mud; there are always risks of getting dirty no matter how prepared you are.
